December 2009 Newsletter

The Friends of the Library’s Holiday Coffee will be December 2.  This is the kickoff for their annual “Build a Basket Around a Book” fundraiser.  The bidding will begin on Wednesday, December 2 and continue until Wednesday, December 16.  If you have any questions please stop by or call for information.  Last year the auction raised $850 and the Friends then use the money to help the library with special items needed.

Beginning January 2nd, the library will be starting a new winter reading program for families.  We have named it FAB – Families and Books.  The family will read three chapter books in January, February and March; when you have completed the three books you will receive a chapter book of your choice from the library.  This will be a wonderful way for families to sit down and read a book together.  Please stop in the library and sign up, begin thinking of the books you want to read then start reading right after the New Year!!!!

Do you have computer questions, are you new to computers, need an e-mail, searching for a new job or general questions  – if any of these affect you come sign up for a session at the library.  We will help you learn to search/surf the web, set-up an e-mail, fill out a job application, and answer general questions about computers.  We are offering one-on-one times and have a sign-up sheet in the library.  Don’t be afraid of these machines – they don’t do anything (usually) until you tell it to!!!!!
