Freqently Asked Questions

Why should I read 100 books?

Reading can help raise test scores, broaden vocabulary, and increase social skills, which are important for future success. But, if that's not enough, we have cool prizes! Every time you turn in 25 titles that you've read, you'll receive a prize. Once you've read 100 books, you'll get a prize pack, bragging rights, and your name displayed in the Teen Corner.

When can I register?

You can register as soon as you're out of 5th grade. You can also register anytime after that all that way up until your senior year of high school! However, books won't count until you've signed up. Remember, the sooner you sign up that more time you have to read.

What do I get when I register?

After you register, you will get a starter kit at the Library. This kit will have instructions, a reading log, a bookmark to help you keep your place, and some suggested titles.

How do I track my books?

You can track your books however you want! On the paper log you're given or an app/website like Goodreads. Whatever is easiest for you!

Are there any rules about what I can or cannot read?

Not really! We're asking that you read books that are appropriate for you, but they can be fictions, nonfiction, graphic novels, audio books, eBooks, and more. You can count books you were assigned in school (as long as you've actually read them), and if you participate in our Summer Reading Program you can use those titles as well.
