Friends of the Library Annual Fundraisers
The Friends of the Library typically hold two used book sales each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Materials for the sales come from generous donations from community members and library materials that have been removed from circualtion. Each sale runs over the course of a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Hours for each sale will be posted on the Friends of the Library Facebook page. The spring book sale includes the membership drive and an early bird sale on Wednesday evening for current Friends members and new enrollees.
Book Basket Silent Auction:
Each November the Friends of the Library host their Book Basket Silent Auction. Baskets are generously donated to the Friends from local businesses and organizations, community individuals, and Friends members. Each basket is designed around the theme of a book which is included in the basket, along with a lot of other selected goodies. Bidding is open to the public throughout the entire month of November. The Grundy Center Sorority Sisters also partner with the Friends of the Library to provide kids with special baskets to win as well through a raffle drawing.
